The Poseidon team are hard-bodied, fiercely competitive Navy SEALs. But when a sensitive mission goes disastrously wrong, three of the team's finest will have to trust their hearts and instincts to uncover the truth…

Lieutenant Elijah Prescott should be spending his precious leave somewhere with sun, surf and scantily clad women. Instead, he's heading home with two goals in mind. Figure out exactly how his last assignment went to hell and almost killed him—and reconnect with the woman who might offer salvation.

Ava Monroe has streamlined her life, eliminating every source of pain—including a marriage touched by tragedy. One glimpse of her ex and those good intentions turn to bad-girl desires. Her strategy: get over Elijah by getting under him again, sating herself until she can finally let go. But as betrayal within the rank of the SEALs turns deadly, there's no denying that her heart and her life are on the line. Elijah is the only man who can protect both…

The Making of Team Poseidon

I’m so excited about the release of CALL TO ENGAGE, since it features not only one of my favorite heroes that I’ve ever written, but also because it’s the second story in the Team Poseidon series.

Team Poseidon began with a random conversation I had with my husband about missions gone wrong and a slain operative and I said, but what if he didn’t die. Just that one simple question, and the entire story came to life. Before Team Poseidon was even born, I knew they’d be betrayed, and that the man who tried to destroy them might—or might not—die in the mission. Once I had their challenge, I started thinking about the team themselves. Twelve SEALs, all elite, all gorgeous and sexy and heroic. Mmm, yeah. That was enough for me to know I’d love spending a few years with these guys, telling their stories and exploring their lives.

CALL TO HONOR introduced the team and that question—was the traitor dead? Diego was an easy hero for me to write, probably because in many ways he’s like my husband. But I knew Elijah, the hero of CALL TO ENGAGE so well that I though his story would be just as easy. Oh, boy was I wrong. Probably because Elijah was injured in that mission-gone-wrong, and carried so much pain. It was the sort of story that I kept wanting to pull back from, to lighten. But I couldn’t. Because what this hero went through—what all of our heroes suffering from PTSD go through—deserved to be told as best I could. And in writing it, in seeing how he healed through the power of love, I’ll be honest, I cried. I hope readers feel as touched as I was.

I’ve loved writing these stories and hope readers are enjoying them as much. There’s something about connected stories that always appeals to me. How about you? Do you like reading a story that progresses through multiple books? Or do you prefer single, unattached stories instead?
